Mirjam en Frank hebben als vaste standplaats Amsterdam.
Daar vandaan maken zij grote reizen en kleinere trips naar plekken over de hele wereld. Dit alles veelal op eigen initiatief.
"We vinden dat we heel vaak veel geluk hebben met de mensen die wij ontmoeten en die ons verder helpen om bijzondere mensen, plekken en huizen te vinden.
Ook zonder gids ligt onze liefde in het struinen door de stad, om zomaar een straatje of steegje links of rechtsaf in te slaan en daar vaak de meest verrassende dingen en plekken te ontdekken."
De reportages van huizen, hotels en reisverhalen verschijnen als publicaties in bladen over de gehele wereld.
"Wij zijn er trots op dat we met een aantal bladen al een heel langdurige samenwerking hebben."
Mirjam werkt als fotograaf veel voor de Conde Nast Traveller en een andere mooie samenwerking is die met de
Italiaanse Elle Decor.

Mirjam and Frank’s story started about twenty years ago.
Their first trip together was to Latin America, where they spent three months exploring the continent. They soon discovered that they shared the same
sense of style and adventure. They both were inspired by beautiful chance finds and things that were a bit rough around the edges. Since then, they have travelled together many times, to destinations around the world.
Not much has changed since that first trip. Every couple of months they feel the urge to pick up and go, choosing a place that interests or intrigues them, without making any specific plans.
Like their previous book At the Ocean, which was published two years ago, Close to Nature is an ode to homes with a personal touch, which have been designed with profound respect for the nature that surrounds them, and to the inspiring people who have opened their doors to them.
